Position Overview
The Staff Specialist will be a valued member of the Continuing Care Team in Albury, providing clinical services to the Adult Community and Triage Service as negotiated.
Responsibilities include supervising, supporting, and directing the multidisciplinary Community Team, ensuring effective continuity of care, and promoting best practices in admission, discharge, and case management.
The role involves clinical teaching, providing specialist support and supervision to fellows, registrars, and Junior Medical Officers, as well as teaching medical students from the University of Melbourne and other disciplines as negotiated.
Mandatory Requirements
Registered or eligible for registration as a Medical Practitioner by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Experience in providing direct clinical care for adults and youth in community and inpatient mental health services
Experience in clinical supervision for health professionals
Understanding of contemporary mental health service provision in Australia
Knowledge of and ability to apply the Mental Health Act 2022
Accredited in Victoria to perform ECT or willing to achieve accreditation
Willingness to participate in shared weekend and on-call rosters
