Overview
The Assistant Accountant is an integral member of our Finance Department within Priestley\u2019s Gourmet Delights. This position supports the efficient operation of our finance functions by assisting with Accounts Payable and Receivable processes, ensuring precise financial reporting, and providing support for a range of financial activities contributing significantly to the Financial Accounting Team.
Responsibilities
- Manage master file changes, credit notes, and debt collection.
- Review weekly payment runs and ensure cash availability.
- Provide backup support for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Officers.
- Perform monthly intercompany reconciliations and FX payments.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and WIP accounts across AU & NZ.
- Support quarterly project reviews and capital spend monitoring.
- Prepare debtor ageing reports and cash flow projections.
- Investigate and clear Goods Delivered Not Invoiced balances.
- Complete monthly reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts.
- Assist with daily cash flow management and forecasting.
- Support statutory reporting including BAS, PAYG, and FBT.
- Manage company credit cards, fuel cards, and e-tags.
- Reconcile sales rebates and promotions.
- Assist with audits, system improvements, and process efficiencies.
- Prepare reports for the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Candidate who has commenced or completed CPA or CA certification.
- Sound understanding of accounting principles and fundamentals.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to interpret complex financial data.
