Job Description
Key Liaison Role: The Mining Engineer Underground serves as the bridge between Technical Services and Mine Operations teams. This role is pivotal in maintaining effective relationships, identifying discrepancies, and addressing gaps to ensure adherence to plans.
Key Result Areas:
1. Develop and provide safe and efficient drill and blast plans.
2. Monitor, record, and optimize production progress on a daily basis.
3. Manage contractors on site and assist Senior Supervisors with day-to-day operations of the mine.
4. Conduct studies on mine processes and business improvements as required.
5. Participate actively and support team activities, meetings, and initiatives.
6. Evaluate and ensure that company policies, practices, and values are adhered to.
7. Assist the Senior Engineer in establishing and implementing safe working practices and procedures.
8. Ensure all statutory and regulatory requirements related to mining activities are met.
9. Commit to upholding health, safety, and security standards within your workplace and identify potential risks throughout the organization.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
10. Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or a related field.
11. Underground production engineering experience, preferably in gold mining (not essential).
12. A strong understanding of relevant Australian legislation, mining regulations, and operating conditions, particularly the WA Mines Act and Regulations.
13. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships.
14. A focus on safety and the capacity to work under tight deadlines.

Others:
The ideal candidate will reside in the Kalgoorlie/Boulder area, working a 5:2:4:3 roster, or be based in Perth for an 8:6 FIFO schedule.
