Assistant Facilities Manager – Educational Campus
As the Assistant Facilities Manager, you will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the facilities of a leading educational institution. Working closely with the Facilities Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of property maintenance, campus grounds, and infrastructure projects to ensure a safe, well-maintained, and inspiring environment for students, staff, and the broader school community.
This hands-on role involves supervising a team, managing contractors, ensuring compliance with school policies and safety regulations, and delivering high-quality maintenance and capital works programs that align with the school’s long-term vision.
Key Responsibilities:
Campus Maintenance & Grounds Management – Oversee daily upkeep, scheduled maintenance, and repair work to ensure the school’s buildings, sporting fields, and outdoor spaces remain in excellent condition.
Team Leadership – Lead and support the maintenance and grounds staff, fostering a positive and productive team environment.
Project & Contractor Management – Coordinate minor works, renovations, and capital projects, ensuring quality, budget alignment, and timely completion.
Compliance & Safety – Ensure all facilities meet Workplace Health & Safety (WHS/OHS) standards, regulatory requirements, and school policies, including fire safety, essential services, and risk management.
Budget & Asset Management – Assist in budgeting, cost forecasting, procurement, and asset tracking to optimize property and maintenance operations.
Stakeholder Engagement – Liaise with school leadership, teaching staff, and external vendors to ensure smooth operations and responsive service.
About You:
Experience in property or facilities management, ideally within a school or similar environment.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
Knowledge of building maintenance, groundskeeping, essential services, and compliance requirements.
Excellent problem-solving, budgeting, and contractor management abilities.
A proactive and hands-on approach to facilities management.
