Remuneration Package

The hourly rate for this position is $40.64. The total salary package will include employer's contribution to superannuation and leave loading.

About the School

Palm Avenue School - NSW Centre for Effective Reading (NSWCER) is a NSW Department of Education and NSW Health initiative. NSW CER is a state-wide service for students referred from eligible government and non-government schools. NSW CER supports primary aged, rural and remote students with complex reading difficulties who have been identified and accepted for support. There are hubs in Manly, Westmead, Wagga and Dubbo.

About the Role

School Administration Officers for NSW CER work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of specialist staff including teachers, speech pathologists and school psychologists, who provide assessment and intervention services to primary school age students with complex reading and language difficulties from rural and remote areas of NSW. Successful applicants will play a pivotal role in liaising with NSW CER personnel, referring school staff and families of students referred to NSW CER. This role will also include specific duties undertaken as part of a School Administration Officer – Library.

There are 3 permanent positions available. One position located in Westmead, one position located in Wagga and one position in Manly. Applicants must nominate their preferred location.

Essential Requirements

* Working with Children Check Clearance
* First Aid Certificate or willingness to undertake First Aid training.
* Administration of Medications – training to be provided based on student needs.

Selection Criteria

* Demonstrated capacity to work effectively as part of a team.
* Administration skills including a knowledge of computer software programs such as Microsoft Office.
* Effective oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to meet deadlines.
* Ability to work with teachers and students.
* Ability to perform tasks in one or more of the following areas: office procedures; accounting procedures; sick bay; hospitality and/or design and technology; science.
