Hot General Manager – Australian Masters Games (UniSport Australia, Newcastle, NSW, Australia)
Lead one of Australia's largest community sporting events. Drive end‐to‐end planning and delivery of the 2027 Games, a multi‐sport festival expected to attract 7,500+ participants across 50+ sports.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver and evaluate the Games, managing multiple project workstreams to meet milestones, timelines and budget.
* Deliver a seamless participant and stakeholder experience across competition and associated social programmes.
* Ensure all event operations meet agreed standards, timelines and budget.
* Develop and implement overarching Event Delivery Plan and Operational Plan, establishing governance, reporting structures and risk controls.
* Provide regular progress reporting to executive stakeholders and partners.
* Manage the full event budget, including revenue and expenditure, lead sponsorship, partnership and commercial revenue initiatives, and maintain strong financial governance.
* Lead strategic relationships with government, host city partners, venues and sporting organisations; collaborate with national and state sporting bodies to deliver the sports programme.
* Lead, develop and manage a diverse workforce of staff, contractors and volunteers; oversee workforce planning, recruitment, training and performance frameworks.
* Oversee marketing and communications delivery in partnership with relevant teams, driving participant engagement, brand positioning and customer experience outcomes.
About You
You are a senior event or project executive with proven success delivering large‐scale, complex sporting events or major projects.
Essential Experience
* Proven leadership in delivering major sporting, community or large‐scale events.
* Strong project and programme delivery capability across multiple workstreams.
* Demonstrated commercial and financial management expertise.
* Experience operating in complex stakeholder environments.
* Strong leadership, governance and delivery focus.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in sport management, events, business or related discipline.
* Significant relevant industry experience.
Essential Requirements: Sports Management / Business Degree.
