The Role
Reporting to the Chief HR Officer, this is a critical opportunity to design and deliver a new HR service delivery model that will increase capability, efficiency, and experience across a large and complex organisation. Leading a team, you will be accountable for a range of strategic initiatives including:
* Payroll Uplift Program – Deliver a strategic initiative to resolve payroll challenges and build sustainable, compliant processes.
* Digital Transformation – Lead a significant project around digital infrastructure to modernise HR systems and data capability.
* Time & Attendance Implementation – Oversee the selection, rollout, and successful implementation of an organisational‑wide time and attendance system.
* Reward System Enhancement – Lead the upgrade of Workday to streamline reward processes and enable greater operational efficiency.
About You
You are a proven HR leader with a track record of delivering exceptional operational processes and digital transformation within large, complex, and industrial environments. You are hands‑on when needed but always keep the bigger picture in sight, pragmatic, emotionally intelligent, and highly collaborative, inspiring confidence and bringing people on the journey of change.
* Significant experience managing payroll operations and HR service delivery.
* Strong background in implementing digital HR and payroll systems.
* Experience in organisations with complex wage remediation or large casual workforces.
* A practical, numerate mindset with the ability to "get into the detail."
* Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Term and Remuneration
The successful candidate will be offered a five‑year fixed‑term position on a full‑time basis with a competitive remuneration package commensurate with the responsibilities of the role and the candidate's relevant experience and qualifications. The appointment is subject to a satisfactory probation period for new appointees.
Pre‑employment Checks
Employment is conditional upon completion of all required pre‑employment or background checks. Ongoing employment is conditional upon the satisfactory maintenance of all relevant clearances and background check requirements. If conditions are not met, the University may take necessary actions, including termination of employment.
