Social Worker/Senior Social Worker - North Queensland Region
We're building a pool of skilled individuals for upcoming roles, and seeking dedicated and compassionate Social Workers to join our team. As a Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing support and assistance to individuals and families facing various challenges.
Your responsibilities will include accessing client needs, developing care plans, connecting clients with resources and services, advocating for their rights and offering emotional support.
This is a progressional position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the lower classification with eligibility for progression to the next, once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated.

About The Role
The focus of the role is to provide support for students with mild to moderate mental health concerns. The Wellbeing Workforce professional works as part of schools' established student support teams to enhance wellbeing and mental health support available to students.
- Provide professional support and information for students, parents, carers and school communities that facilitate partnerships in decision making for enhancement of all students' learning.
- Use evidence-based intervention strategies to support young people experiencing challenges with mental health, and social and emotional wellbeing.
- Provide therapeutic counselling and support through individual or group sessions to address mild to moderate mental health concerns.
- Facilitate referrals to other allied health professionals and services and assist students and families to access this support.
- Support school communities in responding to critical incidents and emergencies as a part of the school response team.
- Develop and/or maintain appropriate data collection and confidential records keeping and reporting systems for individual students referred for social work services in line with department procedures and policies
- Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team within a educational setting, providing support to school, community and inter agency/networks relevant to the position.
