Your Key Duties & Responsibilities will be:
* Reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to understand the requirements of the project.
* Selecting and preparing the appropriate materials, tools, and equipment for the fabrication and welding processes.
* Dressing, Cutting, shaping, and forming metal components using various techniques such as bending, Grinding and drilling.
* Operating welding equipment and performing various welding techniques (such as MIG, TIG, or arc welding) to join metal parts together according to specifications.
* Ensuring the quality and accuracy of the fabricated components or structures by inspecting and measuring them against the provided specifications.
* Conducting repairs or modifications to existing metal structures or components as needed.
* Following safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents.
* Collaborating with Managers, designers, or other team members to discuss project requirements, resolve issues, and ensure the successful completion of the project.
* Maintaining and cleaning welding equipment and tools to ensure their proper functioning.
Essential Qualifications:
* Current forklift license (LF)
* Sheet Metal & Welding experience / qualifications
* Minimum 3-5 years of sheet metal and welding experience required
* Trade certificate in welding or related field required
* An ability to read & understand technical drawings
* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
* Australian citizenship or permanent residency required
