About the role
Sunset Coast Support Services' is seeking enthusiastic Disability Support Workers to join our dynamic team in Darwin, NT. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality, personalised support to individuals living with disabilities, empowering them to lead fulfilling and independent lives. This is a casual position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to make a real difference in your community.

A Working with Vulnerable People check is required for this role.
What you'll be doing
1. Assisting clients with their daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping
2. Facilitating and participating in recreational and social activities to enhance the wellbeing and inclusion of clients
3. Providing compassionate and respectful support, tailored to the unique needs and preferences of each individual
4. Advocating for clients' rights and ensuring their safety and dignity are upheld at all times
5. Maintaining detailed records and documentation to support clients' care plans
6. Collaborating with the broader care team to ensure seamless, coordinated support
What we're looking for
1. A demonstrated passion for supporting individuals with disabilities and a deep commitment to promoting their independence and inclusion
2. Relevant qualifications, such as a Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability), or a similar human services-related qualification
3. Previous experience in a disability support or community services role, preferably in a home-based or community setting
4. A minimum of 12 months experience in disability support is required for this position
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build genuine connections with clients and their families
6. A positive, empathetic, and flexible approach to problem-solving and task completion
7. A current driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle (desirable)
8. A strong understanding of the NDIS framework and how to effectively support clients within this system
