With your skills and experience, you can contribute to the millions of ways we're enriching health, and develop your career as part of the largest health organisation in Australia.
Achieve Something Great
Step into a role where your skills make a real difference in the moments that matter. Our busy hospital library is looking for a part‑time temporary Library Technician who's ready to support clinicians on the front lines by connecting them with the information they rely on every day. You'll assist staff across the hospital with technical, informational, and directional needs; manage circulation duties; organise and distribute journals; and contribute to creative promotional displays that keep our services thriving. Working side‑by‑side with the Library Manager and a dedicated Library Technician, you'll become an essential part of a coordinated service that empowers the entire Bankstown‑Lidcombe Hospital community.

Are You the Right Fit?
We're searching for a Library Technician who brings skill, focus, and initiative to every task. If you hold a TAFE Diploma, have a sharp eye for detail, and enjoy working independently, you may be exactly who we need. This role involves a blend of desk shifts, assisting a wide range of library users, shelving, cataloguing, interlibrary loans, and supporting journal management under the guidance of senior staff. Availability on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Wednesday afternoons is essential, along with a little flexibility to keep our service running smoothly. If you thrive in an organised, service‑driven environment, this opportunity could be a strong match for your strengths.

Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.

* Completion of Diploma in Library and Information Studies or equivalent, with eligibility for Library Technician membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA).
* Demonstrated experience in the use of library management systems, online information tools, the Microsoft Office suite of products and other software products.
* Demonstrated ability to undertake detailed work, including data entry with a high level of accuracy.
* Well developed communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to communicate effectively with a range of client groups.
* Demonstrated commitment to client-focused service provision, including quality improvement and service evaluation.
* Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and commitment to achieving team goals.
* Must be available to participate in an extended hours roster.
