About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Mental Health Clinical Specialist to join our healthcare team in the Emergency Mental Health & Addiction Assessment Team at Port Macquarie Base Hospital.
This is a permanent full-time position with a 38-hour work week and an attractive salary package.
Key Responsibilities
* To provide expert clinical consultancy and services within a defined specialty, practicing within the domains and functions of the CNC 1 role and to demonstrate leadership in promoting contemporary nursing/midwifery practice within the Mid North Coast Local Health District.
* To undertake assessment and management of MHAOD presentations to ED and when appropriate, provide advice and assessment to emergency services through a virtual mode.
* To develop, plan, conduct, and evaluate education sessions for the health workforce.
About You
* A current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia with at least 5 years full-time equivalent post-registration experience and postgraduate qualifications in the relevant field or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
* Accredited person or willingness to be upskilled.
* Demonstrated superior MH knowledge and exceptional assessment skills.
* Able to work independently and collaboratively with clients, carers, the multidisciplinary team, and services across the continuum.
