About this opportunity
The primary purpose of the Moulding Technician is to set up, operate and troubleshoot injection moulding machines and ancillary equipment to mould and finish any manufactured articles including mobile garbage bins (MGBs), bodies, lids, and other parts according to the product specification.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Oversees production schedules and coordinates mould changes, machine setups, and material handling.
- Assigns tasks based on job orders and ensures proper setup of injection moulding machines and related equipment.
- Adjusts machine parameters to optimise output and quality.
- Manages inventory movement, maintains production records, and supports shift handovers.
- Performs routine maintenance, addresses equipment issues, and collaborates with the R&M; team when needed.
- Promotes a clean, safe work environment and motivates team members to meet production goals.
Your skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
- Strong team collaboration skills
- Effective problem‑solving capabilities
- Solid understanding of legislative safety requirements and safe work systems
- Proficient in computer applications and systems
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and manuals
- Skilled in writing routine reports and qualified correspondence
- Confident in speaking and presenting to groups within the organisation
- Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate figures accurately
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role or in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Year 10 and/or Certificate III or equivalent experience.
- Certificate III in Process Manufacturing, a trade qualification as fitter, toolmaker or moulder or the equivalent from two‑year college or technical school; or six months to one‑year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Able to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Physically fit and capable of manual duties
