The Role
Senior Solution Designer
Toll Group IT provides technology strategy, governance, delivery, and support across all of Toll Worldwide. The team ensures the organisation is equipped with the right technology foundations and business systems to drive growth and meet evolving customer needs.
As a Senior Solution Designer at Toll, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering technology solutions that enable our business strategy across key functions. Working closely with business stakeholders, architects, and delivery teams, you'll translate complex requirements into clear, pragmatic solution designs that align with Toll's technology roadmap and architecture standards.
You'll be involved in delivering modern, scalable, and secure solutions across a diverse technology landscape, supporting strategic transformation initiatives such as integration modernisation (Workato), Zero Trust network transformation (Zscaler), and Network Access Control (NAC).
This is an opportunity to make a tangible impact on business outcomes, work with leading technologies, and continue to grow your capabilities within a collaborative, inclusive, and forward‐thinking environment.
A day in the life of a Senior Solution Designer at Toll Group:
* Translate business requirements into clear, structured and governed solution designs, aligned with Toll's technology strategy, architecture principles, and a shift‐left delivery approach.
* Develop, maintain, and evolve high‐level and low‐level solution design artefacts that support scalable, secure, reusable, and operationally supportable outcomes.
* Collaborate closely with cross‐functional stakeholders including Architecture, Security, Delivery, business leaders, project managers, and technical teams to enable successful delivery.
* Actively contribute to Technical Working Groups and design forums to drive continuous improvement, standardisation, and innovation across solution design practices.
* Provide technical leadership across core infrastructure domains including cloud (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), networking (LAN, WAN, Wi‐Fi, cloud), and security (identity, access management, data protection).
* Design and support modern Zero Trust and secure access capabilities, including SASE with Zscaler (ZIA, ZPA, Branch Connector) and Network Access Control (NAC) for enhanced visibility and secure network access.
Skills and Experience
* Proven experience in solution design, system implementation, and technical delivery within complex enterprise environments, with the ability to translate business requirements into practical solutions.
* Hands‐on experience across integration, cloud, and infrastructure domains, with exposure to modern platforms including cloud services, integration tools (e.g. Workato), and security technologies.
* Strong understanding of system integration, end‐to‐end business process flows, and architecture/design methodologies, with awareness of security, privacy, and compliance considerations.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively in Agile delivery environments, balancing competing priorities and navigating trade‐offs to achieve pragmatic outcomes.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills, including experience engaging stakeholders at all levels and working with delivery partners, vendors, or system integrators.
* A collaborative and growth‐oriented mindset, with interest in emerging technologies (cloud, AI, modern integration), and experience in logistics or supply chain environments seen as advantageous but not essential.
* Must be entitled to work in Australia.
