**Job Title:** Stores Technician
About the Job
We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Stores Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting daily operational activities in the stores department, meeting business objectives, and delivering exceptional customer service to operational functions.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential in this role, as well as a commitment to maintaining a safe and inclusive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure the Warehousing function is a safe, well-coordinated, and optimal working environment.
* Responsible for achieving MRO inventory targets, availability of critical items, and meeting KPIs.
* Identify continuous improvement opportunities through optimizing working capital and improving both work procedures and systems.
* Monitor and investigate inventory deficiencies through root cause investigations, recommend appropriate corrective actions, and implement changes as agreed with end users.
* Carry out cyclic stock takes in accordance with site schedules.
* Ensure inventory procedures and practices are followed.
* Unloading of freight trucks and packing away items in designated shelving and racking.
* Loading and dispatching goods, including samples.
* Following up with end users to collect items from the Stores.
* Maintaining relevant transactional activities and reports using SAP.
* Assisting purchasing with expediting reports and supplier follow-up on overdue items.
* Ensuring supply and safe delivery of bulk materials to site in line with operational requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* 2-5 years previous warehouse experience (desired, but not essential).
* Current C Class Drivers' Licence unrestricted (essential).
* High Risk Licence for forklift operation (essential).
* Provides high-level customer service.
* Highly motivated and promotes a safe and inclusive work environment.
* SAP S4 HANA – IM warehousing module experience (desired).
* Ability to work rapidly and autonomously in a changing environment.
* Inventory control highly regarded.
* Previous purchasing and or rotables experience highly regarded.
* Experience in MRO MRP ordering requirements highly regarded.
