The opportunity:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Accountant. This role is ideal for someone who is friendly, organised, and has a passion for Aged Care. Reporting to the General Manager - Corporate Services, you will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with Australian accounting standards and taxation regulations and supporting the organisations financial operations.
Responsibilities:
* Provide high quality accounting support, ensuring accurate financial records, reconciliations & compliance
* Prepare and process journals (accruals, payroll, depreciation, prepayments, GST and month end adjustments).
* BAS preparation
* Preparation of ACFR/QFR
* Ensure the accuracy of fixed assets through appropriate asset accounting and reconciliations.
* Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and variance analysis, including investigating variances against budget
Essential Criteria:
* Tertiary qualification in accounting
* General understanding of legislative requirements in relation to the Aged Care Act
* High level of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
* Excellent attention to detail, organisation skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team. High attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information
* Valid police clearance & participate in the Annual Mandatory vaccination Program.
