The Gadigal Centre is the University of Sydney's dedicated student centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, providing academic, pastoral and cultural support services to Indigenous students to help them achieve their full potential. The University of Sydney is seeking an experienced and culturally grounded Program Manager, Gadigal Centre (Identified) to lead strategic programs that enhance engagement, support and outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Working within the Gadigal Centre, you will guide a dedicated team, strengthen partnerships across the University, and shape initiatives that foster cultural safety, belonging and student success. This is a senior leadership role with significant impact on the student experience and the University’s broader Indigenous strategy. Your key responsibilities will be to: work closely with the Director, Deputy Director, Advancement Managers, Elders, cultural service providers and senior University stakeholders lead the development and delivery of strategic annual programming, events and initiatives that support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students oversee day‑to‑day operations, systems and processes that enable high‑quality student support and engagement services manage staff performance, development and team culture to foster a collaborative, innovative and high‑performing environment provide strategic input into policy, planning, funding and program evaluation to strengthen the Centre’s impact build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners to advance cultural competency and student outcomes. About you demonstrated knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and contemporary issues, with the ability to advocate for Indigenous students experience leading teams in complex education or community settings, with a track record of delivering strategic programs and initiatives experience in project or program management, including planning, execution, evaluation and budget oversight ability to build strong relationships with Elders, cultural service providers, academic leaders and professional staff experience managing stakeholder engagement at senior levels, including negotiation and collaboration across diverse groups tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Engagement with cultural duties, engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander traditional knowledge holders and navigating cross-cultural interactions are recognised as crucial elements of this role and will be allocated appropriate time in workloads, including work plans, and will be considered in criteria for promotion.
