Key Roles and Responsibilities:
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Clerk to support our finance and operations teams in Cairns, Australia.
* The key responsibilities of this role include processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, including supplier invoices for fuel, repairs, machinery servicing, and operational expenses.
* Prepare and issue customer invoices for skip bin hires, waste disposal, and transport services.
* Record, allocate, and reconcile daily financial transactions accurately and efficiently.
* Reconcile bank statements, supplier statements, and internal accounts regularly.
* Verify driver job sheets, bin movement records, weighbridge/tipping dockets, and service documentation to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
* Assist with preparing journal entries and supporting month-end tasks, including financial summaries, reconciliations, and reporting.
* Follow up overdue customer accounts and assist with credit control processes.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date filing systems, ledgers, registers, and digital records.
* Liaise with drivers, operations staff, suppliers, and customers to ensure smooth communication and efficient operations.
* Provide general administrative support to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
