Paraprofessional, Class I – Positions available starting the 2026-2027 school year. 9 months/5 days per week/7 hours per day. Hours: TBD per the needs of the building.
Starting Hourly Rate of Pay: Tentatively $18.23 (will follow the 2026-2027 salary schedule).

Responsibilities
* Assist assigned students with physical tasks (must be able to lift at least fifty pounds).
* Reinforce class rules when the teacher is absent.
* Assist the substitute teacher.
* Listen to student recitations, readings, and other curriculum tasks.
* Work with small groups to reinforce material or academics introduced by the teacher.
* Reinforce behavior management techniques.
* Accompany students to office and/or school nurse visits as needed.
* Serve as a resource person for the student evaluation team on assigned students.
* Perform bathroom and other duties as assigned per the students' needs.
* Responsibility for transporting students to and from transportation.
* Possess CPI training and be physically capable of executing crisis prevention holds and de‐escalating procedures.

* Education/Training: CPI training will be provided; a one‐year Educational Aide permit is required (applied for during hiring).
Required Credentials
Applicants must meet one State of Ohio requirement: pass the ParaPro Assessment Test and hold an associate's degree or higher from an accredited university, or have completed at least 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours at an accredited college or university.
Experience
Previous experience in special education preferred.
Background Check
Required BCI/FBI background check administered at the Board of Education upon hire (includes $47.25 fee).
