The Role
We are seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer to join a collaborative support team, responsible for maintaining the stability and performance of critical trading and financial systems.
This is a hands-on Level 2 support role, working closely with developers, infrastructure/SRE teams, and business stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, manage incidents, and ensure production systems remain highly available.
What You\'ll Do
* Provide Level 2 support across trading, execution, clearing and settlement applications.
* Troubleshoot issues related to performance, data, configuration and system behaviour.
* Respond to and manage production incidents, including investigation, diagnosis and resolution.
* Work closely with engineering and infrastructure teams to escalate and resolve complex issues.
* Support applications running across AWS environments (EC2, RDS, S3, CloudWatch).
* Monitor application health using observability tools such as CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus and Splunk.
* Maintain dashboards, alerts and logs to proactively identify issues.
* Assist with service requests, access management and operational support activities.
* Contribute to documentation, runbooks and knowledge sharing across the team.
* Participate in change management processes and support release cycles where required.
What You Bring
* 5+ years\' experience in Application / Production Support roles.
* Strong experience supporting financial systems (trading, execution, clearing or settlement).
* Solid SQL skills (PostgreSQL and/or MS SQL Server).
* Exposure to AWS environments (EC2, RDS, CloudWatch, monitoring/logging).
* Experience working with microservices-based applications and distributed systems.
* Hands-on experience with observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk).
* Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
* Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
* Experience working in ITIL-aligned environments (incident, problem and change management).
* Comfortable working in fast-paced environments and participating in on-call rotations.
Nice to Have
* Exposure to FIX protocol or market data systems.
* Scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash or Python).
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
