Laboratory Technicians
and
Laboratory Scientists
to join our accredited laboratory in a full-time capacity.
About the role
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support the delivery of timely, accurate pathology results across disciplines such as haematology, biochemistry, immunoassay and/or microbiology (depending on site and experience).
Key responsibilities
Receive, label and process specimens in line with NATA/ISO ***** and internal quality standards
Perform routine and specialised tests using automated analysers and manual techniques
Monitor and document quality control, maintenance and instrument calibration
Validate and review results, escalating critical or unexpected findings as required
Maintain accurate records within the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
Comply with infection control, WHS and biosafety procedures at all times
Assist with reagent preparation, stock control and general lab housekeeping
Contribute to continuous improvement, audits and accreditation activities
About you
Laboratory Technician
Certificate III/IV in Pathology or relevant laboratory/medical science studies
Previous experience in diagnostic pathology or a clinical laboratory (desirable)
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs
Good computer skills and willingness to learn new systems
Laboratory Scientist
Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science or equivalent (AIMS-recognised qualification preferred)
Experience in a diagnostic pathology laboratory
Good knowledge of one or more disciplines (e.g. haematology, biochemistry, immunoassay, microbiology)
Experience working in a NATA-accredited / ISO ***** environment (desirable)
For both roles you will:
Work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and clinicians
Be reliable, organised and able to work rostered shifts (e.g. evenings / weekends / public holidays as required)
Hold full work rights in Australia

4Cyte Pathology offers competitive, market-aligned remuneration and conditions.
Laboratory Technician (full-time):
indicative range
$78,000 – $83,000 + super
, depending on skills, experience and classification
Laboratory Scientist (full-time):
indicative range
$85,000 – $90,000 + super
, depending on skills, experience and classification
Final remuneration will be determined having regard to your experience, internal parity and any applicable industrial instrument (e.g. the Health Professionals and Support Services Award **** or relevant enterprise agreement), and will be at least compliant with minimum legal requirements.
