The role
Continuing its tradition for excellence in the education of girls, Melbourne Girls Grammar is seeking a knowledgeable, cutting‐edge, and engaging Oboe & Bassoon teacher to join the collaborative Music Faculty as a Music Itinerant. Music is a vibrant and exciting aspect of co‐curricular life at Melbourne Girls Grammar – our students perform in a wide range of ensembles across age, year, and instrument levels.
This casual position will teach individual Oboe and Bassoon lessons in the Merton Hall Program. At this stage, there is a half day of teaching, and the day of the week is negotiable.
Responsibilities
- Teach Oboe & Bassoon lessons to individual students from Years 5 to Year 12.
- Design and conduct lessons to engage and inspire students, from beginners to advanced.
- Apply strong practical and theoretical knowledge of Reeds pedagogy.
- Create engaging learning experiences and musical performances that celebrate diversity and excellence.
- Incorporate technology such as notebook computers, LMS, and online and multimedia programs to support learning.
Qualifications
- Victorian Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain) or VIT Registration.
- Bachelor of Music or other relevant tertiary qualification (desirable but not essential).
