About the role
AGL's Asset Services team is looking for a Lead Wind Technician to play a critical role in the safe operation and maintenance of equipment at Wattle Point Wind Farm, South Australia.
This is a hands-on technical role with leadership responsibilities, acting as the second-in-charge (2IC) to the Site Supervisor and driving operational excellence across the site.
What you will be doing:
* Act as 2IC for the Site Supervisor, providing leadership, training, and mentorship to site staff
* Support the development of daily, monthly, and annual service plans
* Troubleshoot complex maintenance issues and provide technical guidance to technicians
* Prepare and perform electrical isolations, energisations, and switching operations (if HV certified)
* Create and manage works management documentation (e.g., PTW, LOTO, isolation procedures)
* Perform routine and breakdown maintenance, inspections, and monitoring of wind assets
* Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment standards, including hazard and job safety analysis
* Supervise contractors and service providers to ensure safe and high-quality work
* Contribute to SAP work records and reporting for maintenance activities
What you will bring:
You're a skilled technician with strong leadership qualities and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.
* Electrical or Mechanical Trade qualification
* Extensive experience as a wind turbine service technician
* Experience with works management principles, LOTO, and switching procedures
* Field supervision and risk management experience
* High Voltage certification (preferred)
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
* Valid SA driver's licence and willingness to work at heights and in confined spaces
* Additional desirable certifications: GWO training, working at heights, HV/LV rescue, fire awareness, first aid
