Role Overview
The Clinical Nurse Consultant provides clinical leadership and expertise within a multidisciplinary team located at the Launceston Community Health Centre – Satellite Renal Unit. The role involves clinical consultancy on all aspects of renal replacement therapies, acting as a role model and expert clinician in accordance with best practice, and coordinating care with the Nurse Unit Manager.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide clinical nurse consultancy on all aspects of clinical practice involving renal replacement therapies.
* Act as a role model and expert clinician in the clinical setting, in accordance with best practice.
* Provide clinical leadership and coordination, in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager, to haemodialysis and home therapy nurses.
* Provide authoritative expertise in renal care coordination and identify improvements in care coordination and service accessibility.
Essential Qualifications
* Extensive experience as a Registered Nurse, with at least 5 years advanced competence in Renal Nursing, coordination and management.
* Well- developed clinical management and leadership skills with ability to collaborate effectively within the multi-disciplinary team and to consult, refer, liaise and negotiate on complex professional, clinical service and health system issues.
* Effective organisational skills, problem‐solving ability, with application of clinical risk management, quality improvement, and nursing research principles to the clinical setting, enabling independent and team-oriented judgments.
Eligibility
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
* Minimum 5 years' experience as a Registered Nurse with renal experience (desired).
* Holding or being pursued for relevant postgraduate qualifications in renal nursing (desired).
Appointment Details
* Permanent part‐time, day worker position, working 36 hours per fortnight (hours to be negotiated).
* Position based in the Renal Services, Kings Meadow Satellite Unit within the Launceston Community Health Centre at Kings Meadows.
* Position commences as soon as possible.
Salary and Allowances
* Pro rata salary of $118,297 to $125,543 per annum; 12% superannuation contribution on top.
* Salary range aligns with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement ****.
* Postgraduate allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.
* Salary packaging available, including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment per FBT year and other eligible benefits.
