Manage injured worker's rehabilitation and return to work and complete other duties as required from time to time as requested by the Manager, Injury Management Services to achieve business objectives.
Responsibilities
* Compliance & Legislation
* Ensure adherence to WCRA 2003, Privacy Act, and other relevant laws.
* Stay updated on legislative changes affecting rehabilitation and RTW.
* Base all decisions on verified evidence and apply legislation impartially.
* Injury Management & RTW Support
* Develop best-practice injury management strategies for effective RTW.
* Assist RRTWCs with interpreting medical advice and creating RTW programs.
* Provide case notes, closure documentation, and mentoring as needed.
* Claims Oversight & Data Management
* Monitor claim progress through timely reviews and stakeholder engagement.
* Maintain rehabilitation records and statistical data in LGW systems.
* Identify and report trends impacting claim frequency and duration.
* Stakeholder Engagement
Respond promptly to stakeholder enquiries.
* Liaise with line managers on complex or prolonged claims.
* Ensure workers and employers understand their rights and responsibilities.
* Professional Standards & Provider Coordination
Maintain professional registration (e.g., AHPRA).
* Manage allied health services and costs per legislation and evidence-based practice.
Recommend and monitor external provider services.
* Policy & Training
Review and update LGW Rehabilitation Policy and Procedures.
* Develop tools and training to support RRTWCs.
* Advise employers on injury prevention and management strategies.
Skills
Communication – ability to effectively liaise, communicate and negotiate with a wide range of personnel from public and private sectors.
