Job Description
Central Highlands Regional Council has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Safety Advisor to join the team based in Emerald. Hours of work can be flexible for the successful candidate. This role involves field and office-based activities across varied job sites in the region and focuses on process improvement projects and mentoring work crews and their leaders toward a continuously improving safety culture.
Duties
* Identifying and initiating safety related process improvement projects
* Conducting risk assessments & safety observations
* Identifying safety learnings
* Providing coaching on safety procedures to staff and management
Qualifications and Experience
* Qualifications in Work Health & Safety or related discipline
* Minimum of Queensland C class provisional driver's licence
* General Construction Industry Card
* Comprehensive knowledge of and experience in the interpretation and application of Work Health & Safety Act 2011, Regulations 2011
* Demonstrated experience implementing safety processes and initiatives which have improved safety performance
* Demonstrated experience in developing and reviewing safety management systems documents, specifically safe operating procedures and safe work method statements
* Demonstrated skills in dealing confidently, courteously, tactfully, and diplomatically to all levels within the organisation, along with high-level interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
* Demonstrated capability in building an effective and proactive safety culture, delivering high satisfaction and quality partnerships
* Well-developed team‐work skills and the ability to build positive working relationships across the organisation
