We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electronics Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems Australia.
About the Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electronics Manufacturing Engineer to provide engineering expertise to various electronic products used by our defence customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing production build line technical support, technical input and support during non-compliance investigations, and leading engineering governance across electronics production activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide production build line technical support for electronic products and processes.
* Provide technical input and support (including undertaking RCA activities) as a part of non-compliance (NCR) and test failure investigations.
* Lead and/or provide input into the assessment, selection and implementation of new capital equipment including developing business cases to justify project investment.
* Lead and support APQP activities and provide technical advice and reviews as required.
* Support qualification testing on new designs for internal and external customers.
* Lead DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and/or DFT (Design for Test) reviews and provide feedback to relevant project/design engineering teams.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing tools.
* Provide key inputs in technical reviews to support transition of NPI/Product Launch from pilot runs/LRIP (Low-Rate Initial Production) to FRP (Full Rate Production).
About You
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* A background in electronics manufacturing/production or related field.
* A degree in Electronics Engineering or related field.
* Practical experience of Surface Mount Technology (SMT), assembly integration and test processes.
* Radio frequency (RF) experience.
* Good problem-solving skills with the ability to work well in a team and fast-paced environment.
