About the Vessel
We are seeking a fit, energetic, and down-to-earth Stewardess/Deckhand to join a professionally run 38m (125ft) private motor yacht based on the Gold Coast.
You will be joining a small crew of 3–4 on a well-maintained vessel with respectful owners and a relaxed onboard environment.
Planned itinerary:
- Whitsundays (remainder of the year)
- Tasmania (early next year)
- Potential South Pacific cruising
Crew accommodation is provided while travelling. When in home port (Gold Coast), crew are required to arrange their own accommodation.
About the Role
This is a hands-on, all-rounder position suited to someone who is adaptable and enjoys working across both interior and exterior duties.
- Guest onboard: 70% interior / 30% deck
- No guests onboard: 70% deck / 30% interior
This is a relaxed yacht environment (no silver service), but high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and professionalism are essential.
You will also assist with light meal preparation when required (owners complete most cooking).
Key Responsibilities
Interior:
- Daily cabin cleaning, beds, and bathrooms
- Laundry and ironing
- Provisioning and inventory management
- Maintaining high presentation standards at all times
Deck:
- Washdowns, polishing, and detailing
- Assisting with docking, anchoring, and line handling
- General vessel maintenance
- Operating tenders and watercraft
- Supporting guest activities (fishing, water sports)
Mandatory Requirements
- Valid STCW certification
- Demonstrated boating or yachting experience
- Tender driving experience/licence
- Jet ski licence
- Full Australian working rights (no holiday visas)
- Currently located in Australia (Gold Coast preferred)
Highly Regarded
- Previous yachting experience (motor yachts of similar size)
- Culinary skills
- Diving certification
- Experience in polishing and vessel detailing
