About the Role
QSL’s Operations Division plays a vital role in supporting Queensland’s sugar industry, providing dependable storage, shipping, and logistics services across six bulk sugar terminals.
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Administration Officer to join the team at Cairns Bulk Sugar Terminal. This role provides essential administrative and clerical support, ensuring smooth day-to-day coordination of terminal activities.
About the Role
Reporting to the Bulk Terminal Manager, the Administration Officer will be responsible for a wide range of administrative and operational support functions. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate records, assisting with scheduling, and supporting site operations while ensuring compliance and efficiency across all administrative processes.
Some of the key responsibilities
* Provide high-level administrative support to terminal operations.
* Assist with data entry and scheduling for site maintenance management
* Process shipping and receiving records
* Manage petty cash reconciliation, office consumables, stationery purchasing, reception duties, filing, and general office functions.
* Prepare invoices for accounts receivable/payable and support vendor setup documentation.
* Administration of employee and contractor inductions
About You
We are looking for someone who is proactive, approachable, and highly organised, with the ability to work independently on multiple tasks.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
* Certificate IV in Office Administration (or equivalent or willing to obtain).
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
* Experience with accounting processes is desirable but not essential.
* Strong understanding of office procedures and accounting processes.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (intermediate to advanced level).
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Effective communication and teamwork skills.
* Strong time management skills and ability to meet strict deadlines.
* Capable of handling confidential information.
