Position Title: HSC English Tutor
Grade/Subgrade: Years 10–12
Salary: $25 – $75 per hour

Job Summary:

Our HSC English Tutor will play a vital role in guiding senior students toward mastery in English Advanced, Extension 1, or Standard/Studies. The ideal tutor will possess deep subject expertise, the ability to inspire critical thinking and clear expression, and a commitment to each student's academic journey.
Under the direction of the Pal Wisdom Tutoring Directors, the tutor will plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons that are tailored to individual learning needs. They will create a supportive learning environment that promotes intellectual, emotional, and social growth.
The tutor will also monitor student progress, communicate regularly with parents, and use digital tools such as Microsoft Teams, OneNote, and Planner to share updates, assignments, and feedback.
Section II: Essential Duties and Responsibilities1. Deliver High-Quality English Instruction
* Plan and deliver structured lessons aligned with the NESA curriculum for HSC English Advanced, Extension 1, or Standard/Studies.
* Create an engaging, respectful, and student-centred classroom environment.
* Conduct regular assessments, writing tasks, and quizzes to track comprehension and skill development.
* Review performance data to identify learning gaps and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
2. Support Academic and Behavioural Standards
* Maintain discipline and a positive classroom environment conducive to learning.
* Record attendance accurately and monitor student engagement.
* Take appropriate measures to protect students, materials, and facilities.
* Be available for reasonable parent or student consultations when needed.
3. Maintain Professional Standards
* Uphold and model Pal Wisdom Tutoring's Vision and Mission in every class.
* Submit lesson plans, results, and documentation accurately and on time.
* Engage positively with management regarding teaching methods and curriculum feedback.
4. Build Strong Parent Relationships
* Communicate regularly with parents about student progress and learning areas.
* Provide constructive feedback and practical study recommendations.
* Use online platforms (Microsoft Teams) for sharing reports, updates, and notices.
5. Professional Development and Additional Responsibilities
* Stay informed of current teaching methods and HSC syllabus updates.
* Participate in training sessions and professional discussions when required.
* Perform additional relevant duties as assigned by the Pal Wisdom Tutoring Directors.
