Casual Disability Support Worker/Cook | Somerville VIC | Flexible Hours
Are you a compassionate and reliable person who enjoys supporting others to live independently?
We are currently seeking a Casual Disability Support Worker to join our supportive team in Somerville on the Mornington Peninsula. This role is ideal for someone who is motivated, dependable and flexible to work across a 7-day roster when required.
You will play an important role supporting individuals to build independence, participate in the community and engage in meaningful activities including supported employment.
About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support tailored to each participant's goals and needs, working in line with individual support plans and NDIS best-practice approaches.
Your duties may include:
• Supporting clients with daily living activities
• Assisting with community access and social participation
• Supporting clients in paid supported employment
• Encouraging independence, confidence and skill development
• Building positive and respectful relationships
• Supporting clients to achieve their individual goals
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
• Reliable, patient and compassionate
• Comfortable working independently
• Flexible and available to work across weekdays and weekends if required
• A strong communicator with a positive attitude
• Passionate about supporting people with disabilities
Essential Requirements
• NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Current Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle
• Very confident cook with good meal preparation skills
• Relevant experience or qualifications in disability, community services or support work (preferred)
• Commercial kitchen experience demonstrating very confident cooking abilities
• Minimum of 1+ years experience in disability, community services or support work
• Valid work visa or Australian work rights required
