About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Shire of Kondinin as the Executive Manager Infrastructure on a contract basis. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and maintenance of the Shire's critical infrastructure, playing a key part in shaping the future of the local community. As a leader in the local government sector, you will be instrumental in delivering essential services and driving sustainable growth for the region.
What you'll be doing
* Provide strategic leadership and direction for the planning, implementation, and management of the Shire's infrastructure projects and maintenance programs.
* Develop and oversee the Shire's asset management plans, ensuring the efficient and effective utilisation of resources.
* Collaborate with stakeholders, including government agencies and the local community, to identify and prioritise infrastructure needs.
* Manage the Shire’s infrastructure budget and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
* Lead and motivate a team of dedicated professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and service excellence.
* Provide expert advice and support to the CEO and Council on all matters related to infrastructure development and maintenance.
What we’re looking for
* Extensive experience in a senior leadership role within the local government or infrastructure sector.
* Minimum of 8-10 years of senior leadership experience required in local government or infrastructure sector.
* Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, project management, and asset management.
* Strong understanding of local government legislation, regulations, and best practices.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective partnerships.
* Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
* Degree qualification in engineering, project management, or a related field.
* Must be an Australian permanent resident or citizen.
