The position of Principal Space System Architect is an exciting opportunity within the Space Missions and Sensing (SMS) Sector.
This role requires a strong technical background, specifically in space system engineering, with expertise in command control, data transport, and ground processing.
Responsibilities:
* Define the architecture and requirements for a cutting-edge space-based radar system constellation.
* Lead system development, including command and control, intersatellite communications, ground processing, spectrum allocation, and satellite sensor modes.
* Work with teams to determine how functionality should be partitioned between space and ground segments.
* Identify technical risks and develop a system development roadmap.
* Collaborate with other team leads and subcontractors to test and integrate subsystems.
Requirements:
* Absence of any legal barriers to obtaining a Top-Secret Security Clearance.
* BS, MS, or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
* At least 7 years of experience as a System Architect with significant involvement in similar projects.
* Deep knowledge of space system engineering concepts, particularly those involving command control, data transport, and ground processing.
* Prior experience working with contractors to design, build, and assemble space components.
* Multidisciplinary understanding of engineering principles related to system development.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Active clearance at the Secret or Top Secret level.
* Familiarity with designing, integrating, and testing optical communication hardware.
