Job/Responsibilities
Council is currently looking for a reliable, self-motivated person who can work after hours and on weekends, to join the team as a Casual Aerodrome Reporting Officer.
As an Aerodrome Reporting Officer, you will be responsible for undertaking critical inspections and ensuring operational and area compliance and safety at the Orange Aerodrome including:
Undertaking pre-flight and other necessary inspections at the Aerodrome and Runway on weekends and when on call and record daily inspections
Ensure compliance by other Aerodrome users and members of the public and issue Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) where required
Enforce vehicle rules at the Aerodrome
Ensure all security devices and systems are operational, including operational lighting
Attend to Aerodrome emergencies and safety issues as required.

Hourly Rate: Grade 4, Entry Level $39.15 (excludes Superannuation and relevant penalty rates)
As you can imagine this is a critically important position and as such to be successful you will need to be:
Reliable and able to work weekends and after hours (even in the depths of winter)
Someone who works with maturity and can be relied upon to work unsupervised
Able to make critical decisions when required and is able to deal with emergency situations and still remain calm under pressure
A problem solver and who has excellent communication skills
Ability to complete relevant Aerodrome training and courses
You'll also need to have:
A current NSW Class C Drivers Licence
A current Aerodrome Security Identification Card (ASIC) or the ability to obtain prior to commencement
General Construction Induction Card (White Card) or the ability to obtain prior to commencement
Current First Aid Certificate (including CPR) or the ability to obtain prior to commencement
Please note: This is a casual position which means there are no set rostered hours or days, the successful applicants will be required to work weekends and be available for call out 7 days per week from 6pm to 6am. Penalty rates apply.
