At Moree Plains Shire Council, we are looking for a solutions-oriented, collaborative, and enthusiastic Systems & Resources Librarian to join our team at the Moree Community Library. This is a specialist leadership role designed to coordinate library collections, digital platforms, and systems across the Big Sky Libraries network.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager Community, Culture & Libraries, you will lead the coordination of digital platforms and library collections to support contemporary, customer-focused services. You will oversee collection development, e-resources, and Library Management System administration while supervising two direct reports.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Coordinating the collection development process, ensuring resources remain current, relevant, and aligned with customer demand.
* Overseeing Big Sky Libraries (BSL) consortia management, including facilitating the exchange process, cataloguing, and distribution of collections.
* Administering the Library Management System to ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with the Privacy Act 1988.
* Managing online platforms and tools to maximise functionality and user engagement while identifying new technological solutions.
* Leading major projects, such as LMS upgrades and stock takes, ensuring timely completion across teams.
* Financial oversight, including monitoring resource and project budgets, expenditure reporting, and sourcing funding.
* Supervising and mentoring library employees, fostering a cohesive and high-performing team environment.
* The location for this role is the Moree Community Library, Moree, with a requirement for travel between Big Sky Libraries branches.

About You
You are a professional who thrives on process improvement and technological innovation. You possess the ability to provide expert guidance to both staff and library users while exercising sound judgement in a changing environment.
To succeed in this role, you'll bring:
* Bachelor of Information Studies (or equivalent) with eligibility for professional membership of the ALIA.
* Extensive experience in library services or a similar discipline.
* Well-developed skills in e-resource collections, cataloguing standards, and library management systems.
* Strong project management skills, including experience with budgets and task prioritisation.
* Competency in a range of digital technologies, mobile devices, and library-specific platforms.
* Hold Working with Children Check
Desirable Criteria include:
* Previous experience with Spydus Library Management System administration.
* Previous Local Government experience.
* A current Class C Driver's Licence.
