Based in Hemmant you'll be instrumental in ensuring our goods are delivered, received, stored, and dispatched safely, accurately, and on time.
About the Role:
As a Driver & Storeperson, you'll play a vital dual role in our operations, splitting your time between making deliveries and expertly managing warehouse activities. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, upholds the highest safety standards, and is committed to contributing to a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Delivery Driving: Safely load and drive company vehicles, ensure timely deliveries, obtain customer signatures, and maintain branch contact.
* Warehouse Operations: Maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment, load/unload vehicles, identify and report damage, and perform essential pre-use safety checks on equipment.
* Receiving Goods: Verify incoming stock, report discrepancies, and accurately label and locate products.
* Picking & Packing: Precisely pick orders, securely pack goods for dispatch, and cross-check orders.
* Stock Control: Conduct weekly cycle counts and assist with stocktakes.
* Administration: Complete documentation accurately, participate in meetings, report issues, and input data into SAP.
What We're Looking For:
* Essential:
o Valid Driver’s License
o Current Forklift License
* Desirable:
o Certificate in Warehousing & Distribution
o Previous experience with safe storage and handling of chemicals
* Skills & Experience:
o Proven experience in all aspects of warehouse operations and stocktakes/cycle counting.
o Ability to work unsupervised and make sound, safe decisions.
o Demonstrated commitment to safety and problem-solving.
o High-level personal presentation and excellent customer service skills.
o Strong communication (verbal and written) and numerical skills.
o Good computer literacy.
o Physically capable of managing manual handling and other demands of the role.
