Drone-Based Surveyor Position
We are seeking a highly motivated professional to join our geospatial team as a drone-based surveyor. This role offers the opportunity to operate cutting-edge UAV technology and work across diverse projects in mining, civil construction, engineering, environmental and land development.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing and managing UAV survey missions using multirotor and/or fixed-wing platforms. They will conduct LiDAR, photogrammetry, GNSS and ground control capture to project specifications, process and analyse datasets to produce high-accuracy deliverables and maintain UAV fleet, flight logs, and safety documentation.
* Key responsibilities include:
* Planning and executing UAV survey missions using various platforms.
* Conducting LiDAR, photogrammetry, GNSS and ground control capture to meet project requirements.
* Processing and analysing datasets to produce accurate deliverables such as point clouds, orthomosaics, DSM/DTM and volumetrics.
* Maintaining UAV fleet, flight logs and safety documentation.
* Collaborating with project managers and clients to define survey scope and outputs.
* Ensuring survey outputs meet relevant industry and regulatory standards.
Requirements
* 2–3+ years experience in surveying with a large use of UAV platforms.
* REPL 25kg and experience working under a ReOC.
* Bachelor's in Surveying / Mining Surveying, or Advanced Diploma in Surveying.
* Strong knowledge of LiDAR and photogrammetric capture techniques.
* Experience with GNSS network corrections (RTK / PPK).
* A detailed understanding of coordinate systems, map projections, datums and transformations (e.g., GDA2020, MGA, WGS84).
* Manual Driver's License.
* Australian citizenship is required for this position.
