Overview
Teaching Subject: Ancient History, Geography, History, Modern History. Contract Type: Permanent/Ongoing Position, Full Time. Applications Close: 10 October 2025.
The successful applicant will predominately teach a range of Year 7-12 classes across the History/Geography department, with a particular focus on History. Experience with Modern and/or Ancient and/or Extension History in Years 11 and 12 is desirable. The full-time permanent position is to commence in Term 1, 2026.
Central Coast Grammar School is an independent, coeducational and nondenominational K-12 school located on a single campus. The school aims to provide a spacious environment where students can grow and flourish.
All staff participate in annual training in child protection and must complete required statutory checks prior to confirmation of employment.

Responsibilities
- Predominantly teach a range of Year 7-12 History/Geography classes with a focus on History.
- Deliver lessons across Modern, Ancient and Extension History in Years 11-12 as appropriate.
- Collaborate with department colleagues to plan, implement and assess curriculum in line with the NSW History Curriculum.
- Contribute to the strategic direction and professional learning expectations of the School.
- Demonstrate innovative, high-quality teaching and cater to diverse learning needs.
- Engage in school life and co-curricular activities as required.
Qualifications
- Appropriate teaching qualifications and NESA accreditation, with a major in History essential.
- Thorough knowledge of the NSW History Curriculum.
- Evidence of excellent student outcomes in History.
- Ability to teach Stage 4-6 History.
- High standard of competency and innovation in the classroom.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Administrative skills, flexibility, and ability to work as part of a team.
- Commitment to the strategic direction of the School.
