**About the Unit**

UTS Startups is a university-wide program to inspire and support new technology-enabled entrepreneurs, building the largest community of student-launched startups in Australia, then leveraging this community of 480 active startups to inspire and support tens of thousands of people at UTS, in high schools and in the public.

**About the role**

The Community Manager is responsible for the management of the UTS Startups community, programs, working and event spaces, and for delivering high-quality student experiences in a safe, inclusive and encouraging environment of peer-to-peer learning.

The role demands professional resilience and resourcefulness, an upbeat and enthusiastic approach to community building, event planning, innovative and creative problem solving, and importantly, great respect for diversity and inclusion inbuilding and strengthening the UTS Startups community.

**In this role you will be responsible for**:

- Management of onboarding processes and procedures for new community members, ensuring seamless and well-supported transitions into the UTS Startups community and co-working spaces
- Management of the UTS Startups co-working and collaboration spaces, community supervision and other elements required to end-to-end high-quality experiences and environments for community members
- Designing, implementing and promoting activities to bring our community members together and strengthen peer to peer support
- Ensuring the UTS Startups Event Spaces are equipped to handle events that will inspire or support startups at UTS
- Managing staff required for the delivery of UTS Startups events, including inductions, rostering, health and safety, and other aspects related to the staffing of any event production

**With examples, please outline in a separate document how you meet the five key selection criteria points below**:

- Prior experience in community management or startup support.
- Demonstrated experience with project and event planning coordination skills, preferably in relation to the startup community.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including those appropriate to community building, cultivating and maintaining productive relationships, group facilitation, and hosting informal activities.
- Self-driven and highly motivated, with ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a small team.
- High level attention to detail, organisational and time management skills.

**Remuneration**

**Base Salary Range: $85,781 to $92,879 pa (HEW 6)**

This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.

This position is **full-time** and appointment will be made on a** continuing basis.**
