**The Role**
The Pricing Manager (Cost & Better Buying) contributes to Big W's strategic thinking by becoming fully embedded into supplier pricing & strategic category reviews, using rich data to support inflationary challenges and drive successful margin management.
**_Your core accountabilities include:
- **
- Facilitate & lead the cost governance processes across Big W, including preparation of materials for sign off, in alignment with delegation of authority policies
- Influence & guide Supplier pricing decisions with key business stakeholders ie Snr Commercial Managers, Category Managers & Customer First Ranging teams
- Drive the mitigation of Supplier cost increases for both local & indent supply by partnering with Commercial teams and providing rich, insightful information to support the successful negotiations on cost
- Provide pricing recommendations to Commercial teams to ensure the successful achievement of business OKRs and navigation of inflationary pressures
- Drive continuous improvement of business performance by enhancing existing PIR reporting, improved insights & tools and improved processes
- Develop and maintain relevant data insights that will help the Commercial team make better pricing decisions in line with changing customer & market conditions
- Continuously coach and mentor junior team members and direct reports
- Develop influencing & leadership skills to build trusted relationships within the BIG W business
**About You
To be successful in this role and thrive in our high performance culture, you will need to demonstrate the following core experiences:
- 3-6 year Commercial experience in Consulting and / or in Retail in a line (Buying, Pricing, Replenishment Planning) or analyst role
- Business Transformation experience is desirable
- Strong Analytical & Presentation skills
- Proficiency Microsoft Office (Excel & PPT)
- Continuous improvement - proactive in identifying issues and propose solutions
- Good stakeholder management - collaborating closely with stakeholders for best pricing outcome
- Put our customers 1st - high level of curiosity and interest in understanding customer behaviours
You'll be curious with an eye for the bigger picture and you will have the willingness to learn. You will deliver through collaborating with our team, listening to our customers, passionate about the retail market and of course - you have to love your numbers and analytics.
