About the opportunity
We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and dedicated Cook to join our aged care facility. You will play a vital role in preparing nutritious, high-quality meals that cater to the dietary needs of our residents.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook meals in accordance with aged care dietary requirements, menu plans, and resident preferences.
* Maintain a clean, hygienic, and organized kitchen environment in line with food safety standards.
* Ensure special diets (texture‐modified, diabetic, allergen‐free) are accurately prepared and served.
* Store food in temperature‐controlled facilities.
* Collaborate with dietitians and facility staff to ensure meal quality and compliance with care plans.
* Supervise and mentor kitchen assistants or food service staff when required.
* Participate in stock ordering, rotation, menu planning, and waste management.
What you'll bring
You will also be required to provide evidence of, or be in the process of obtaining:
* Current Police Check.
To thrive in this role you will have:
* Relevant qualification as a Cook (minimum requirement: Certificate III in Commercial Cookery).
* Significant experience in commercial cooking.
* A compassionate, flexible, and positive approach to effective resident care and management.
* The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
