Have you just graduated university and ready to kick start your career or are you looking for a career change? Downer Rail & Transit Systems have an opportunity for a Purchasing Officer to be based at our Packenham facility, Nar Nar Goon VIC.
The role
The role of Purchasing Officer is responsible for performing purchasing and inventory activities across a diverse range of goods and services in Victoria and NSW. You will manage key relationships with facilities/operations and engineering, ensuring compliance with purchasing and procurement guidelines. Your focus will be on maintaining business objectives across your buying area of responsibility for assurance of supply, quality, service, cost and regulatory compliance, and ensuring all policies and processes are followed in relation to all purchasing activities (P2P process).
You will evaluate purchase requests, quotations and ensure recommended vendors are used, processing and executing the workflow through to gain PO approvals. You will also maintain accurate master data and keep systems up to date with accurate lead times, minimum/maximum levels, safety stock, delivery dates and vendor information.
