This position will give you the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects across both public and private sectors, gain hands-on experience in electrical building services design, energy efficiency, and project management; and receive structured training and mentorship on the path to Chartered Engineer status.
The Role
Practical Project Involvement – Assisting in the design of electrical building services, including power distribution, lighting, generators, UPS systems, fire alarms, and sustainable/renewable energy solutions and more.Site Experience – Conducting on-site surveys and assessments to improve energy performance and attending project/design team meetings, in interesting and often unusual buildings in different parts of the UK, gaining a deeper understanding of regulations and energy standards relating to the design and installation of electrical systems within buildings.Technical Development – Learning to prepare technical reports, specifications, and CAD drawings, ensuring a well-rounded skill set.Mentorship & Career Growth – Working alongside experienced Chartered Engineers, with tailored guidance to support professional development and career progression.Innovation & Sustainability – Exploring emerging technologies such as smart building systems, energy-efficient solutions, and net-zero carbon strategies.
Requirements
Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or similar)Passion for sustainable energy and smart building technologiesStrong problem-solving skills and an eagerness to learnExcellent communication and teamwork abilities
