This is a newly developed senior leadership role, created to bring sharper commercial discipline, stronger brand leadership and purposeful growth to the organisation.
About the role
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Head of Brand & Business Development is responsible for leading Onemda's brand‐led growth strategy, market expansion, revenue diversification and strategic partnerships.
This exciting role sits at the intersection of brand, business development, partnerships and innovation, translating strategy into practical, evidence‐based growth initiatives that strengthen Onemda's sustainability without compromising trust, quality or values.
You will lead portfolios spanning Brand, Marketing & Communications, Business Development, Partnerships and Growth, and work closely with Integrated Services, Finance, Research & Innovation and the Executive Leadership Team.
This role requires high autonomy, strong personal drive, and a mature executive partnership with the COO.
Key responsibilities
Growth, Business Development & Sustainability
* Lead brand‐led growth and market expansion strategies aligned to the Strategic Plan and Integrated Service Model
* Build and manage a disciplined pipeline of commercial, funding and partnership opportunities
* Develop business cases, market entry strategies and investment recommendations in partnership with the COO and Finance
* Drive revenue diversification through partnerships, tenders, alternative funding models and new service offerings
Brand, Marketing & Market Positioning
* Strengthen Onemda's brand positioning to drive demand, referrals and market credibility
* Ensure marketing investment delivers measurable commercial and growth outcomes, not just visibility
* Oversee integrated marketing and communications strategies aligned to growth priorities
* Work with Research & Innovation and Integrated Services to translate insight into market‐ready offerings
* Test demand, feasibility and risk before scaling new services or business models
* Balance innovation ambition with operational capacity, commercial discipline and governance
Partnerships & External Relationships
* Establish and manage senior relationships with corporate, philanthropic, government and sector partners
* Lead complex negotiations and partnership agreements with a focus on long‐term value and integrity
Leadership & Governance
* Lead and develop high‐performing teams across brand, marketing, partnerships and growth portfolios
* Establish clear performance measures, forecasting and reporting to support executive decision‐making
* Ensure all growth and partnership activity meets ethical, regulatory and governance expectations
About you
You are a senior commercial and brand leader who understands how to drive growth in complex, regulated or purpose‐driven environments.
You bring
* Proven experience in business development, growth strategy, partnerships or commercial leadership
* A track record of delivering measurable growth outcomes (revenue, diversification, partnerships, market expansion)
* Strong brand and marketing leadership grounded in commercial accountability
* Experience developing new products, service lines or business models using evidence, market insight and feasibility testing
* High credibility with executives, boards, funders and external stakeholders
* The ability to operate with autonomy while partnering closely with a COO and executive peers
* Experience in disability, human services, not‐for‐profit or regulated sectors is highly regarded, as is an understanding of the NDIS environment.
