Key Financial Accountant Role
This is an excellent opportunity to become a skilled financial accountant within a stable and well-funded government department.
About the Position:
* Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements, balance sheets, and profit/loss statements.
* Maintain the fixed assets register and general ledger, including preparation of reconciliations.
* Contribute to Audit Committee reporting, including maintaining financial controls and positive liaison with external audit.
* Develop technical accounting papers using discretion and initiative to interpret policy and apply Australian Accounting Standards.
* Perform research and analysis in the preparation of journals.
About You:
* A highly skilled accounting professional with experience in federal government.
* Natural problem solver with ability to research and apply solutions to accounting treatment issues.
* CA/CPA qualified or progressing towards.
* Familiarity with PGPA Act and Rules.
* An Australian Citizen with an existing baseline security clearance.
Requirements:
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting.
* Demonstrated knowledge of financial systems and processes.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
