We are currently seeking a Regional Manager to lead our expanding team in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). Regional Managers play a crucial role in achieving Bastion's strategic objectives and priorities. Being an excellent people person is critical to this role ensuring local personnel are supported and engaged. Client engagement is also key as well as representing the company at conferences and other outward facing ventures.
The right fit for this role will play an instrumental part in maintaining operational excellence through realisation of Bastion strategies, effective resource management, fostering growth within the ACT, preserving the Bastion culture, and ensuring the well-being of our personnel.
The ACT Regional Manager will report directly to the to the Chief Operating Officer and requires the following core competencies:
* Leadership Skills: Ability to guide and inspire the ACT Bastion team, make informed decisions, and provide direction to achieve Bastion goals.
* Strategic Thinking: Capacity to develop and implement strategic plans aligned with the Bastion's objectives and priorities.
* Regional knowledge: Good understanding of the ACT operating environment, market trends, key stakeholders, threats, and opportunities.
* Decision Making: Sound judgment and ability to make timely decisions, considering both short-term and long-term implications.
* Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances, industry trends, and Bastion needs.
* Client Focus: Recognising and addressing the needs of customers or clients to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
Core Responsibilities:
The ACT Regional Manager plays a pivotal role in driving Bastion's success. This position is accountable for delivering revenue growth, optimising profit margins, and ensuring adherence to budgetary goals. A key focus of the role is fostering strong client relationships to ensure the execution and delivery of services.
Other responsibilities include:
* Sales Pipeline Management:
Monitor the size, growth, and overall health of the ACT region's sales pipeline to ensure consistent business development and conversion.
* Market Intelligence:
Stay informed of industry trends and competitive intelligence to inform strategic and operational decision-making.
* Strategic Collaboration:
Partner with Bastion's Chief Business Strategy Officer to shape regional strategies and establish clear business priorities aligned with market opportunities
* Resource Optimization:
Lead resource planning and allocation using performance metrics and measurable KPIs to maximize efficiency and impact.
* Culture & Team Engagement:
Preserving Bastion Culture and managing the wellbeing and engagement of team members through regular catch ups and events.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Minimum 10 years' experience in Defence or related field.
* Tertiary qualification in a STEM discipline and/or significant Defence acquisition or sustainment experience.
* Proven ability to support and deliver Defence capability projects that meet technical and program requirements.
Key Skills and Experience:
* Proven background in Defence, Maritime or Engineering or Project Management disciplines.
* Proven experience leading teams to effectively deliver outcomes with high resource utilisation rates.
* Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement and communication capabilities.
