In this role, you'll make a meaningful difference every day by supporting the physical and mobility functions of residents and designing and implementing physiotherapy programs.
This role as a Physiotherapist will see you:
Develop meaningful relationships with residents ensuring their needs, interests, routines and preferences are respected.
Assess the physical and mobility functioning of residents.
Plan and implement appropriate treatment and activity programs taking into account resident preferences, medical requirements, input from other health professionals and service policy and procedures.
Identify, document and report on resident wellbeing and any change in status ensuring the electronic healthcare management system is updated.
Monitor equipment and ensure that necessary repairs and maintenance are carried out.
Assist in the implementation of therapy programs including group and individual activities.
Supervise Therapy Assistants and volunteers who are assisting with the program.
Assist in the education and training of all staff in safe manual handling techniques.
Communicate with Allied Health and Clinical teams on the outcome of programs for the residents.

The beautifully refurbished 96-bed Residential Care Centre offers both permanent and respite care along with comprehensive activity programs to ensure our residents keep their bodies and minds active day-to-day.
Located in the heart of the RAAFA retirement village in the southern suburb of Meadow Springs, Mandurah, our homely bedrooms have direct access to landscaped gardens and pathways where you can take a stroll, relax, and enjoy the fresh air.

About you:
Possess a Bachelor's or Masters in Physiotherapy.
Current registration with the Australian Association of Physiotherapists.
Awareness of the Australian Association of Physiotherapists legal ethics regarding the scope of responsibility.
Previous experience working in Residential Aged Care.
Ability to work autonomously and with a multidisciplinary team.
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to relate to the elderly with empathy and understand their needs.
Demonstrate flexible decision making and advanced problem-solving skills.
Excellent time management and organisational skills to effectively plan and prioritise work tasks.
Enjoy building positive relationships with residents, their families and staff.
