Advanced Trainees & Registrars - CALHN Cancer Program | Adelaide

Location

Royal Adelaide Hospital & Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Adelaide South Australia

Step into a key training role within our state‐wide Haematology and Oncology teams, where you'll manage diverse and complex patient care across inpatient, ambulatory and laboratory settings. You'll expand your clinical capability, contribute to research and innovation, and be part of collaborative multidisciplinary teams committed to excellence, safety and patient‐centred care. With support from experienced consultants and supervisors of training, you'll grow your expertise while helping shape high quality cancer services across CALHN.

What you'll do

* Manage complex haematology and oncology patients across inpatient and ambulatory settings
* Deliver evidence‐based, patient‐centred care aligned with best‐practice standards
* Lead clinical reviews, ward rounds and patient management plans
* Supervise and support interns and junior doctors
* Contribute to diagnostics, transfusion decisions and multidisciplinary case discussions
* Participate in research, audits and quality improvement initiatives
* Provide teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
* Collaborate with consultants, pathology teams and multidisciplinary clinicians

You're a clinician with strong foundations, excellent communication skills and a commitment to safe, evidence‐based care as you grow your expertise in oncology, haematology or both.

Qualifications

* Hold an MBBS or equivalent with general registration through the Medical Board of Australia
* Bring clinical experience appropriate to your stage of training in medical or general medicine settings
* Apply sound clinical judgement and maintain high standards of care
* Work effectively within multidisciplinary teams across inpatient, ambulatory and laboratory environments
* Communicate clearly with patients, families and colleagues, with accurate documentation
* Demonstrate professionalism, integrity and empathy
* Adapt to changing clinical demands and contribute to service improvement
* Understand and apply clinical standards, policies and safe practice principles

Medical Oncology Advanced Trainee/Registrar

As an Advanced Trainee or Registrar in Medical Oncology, you'll contribute to the delivery of high‐quality cancer care across inpatient and ambulatory settings. You'll support patient management, supervise junior doctors and participate actively in research, education and teaching—aligning with CALHN's commitment to excellence, innovation and best practice. As a Haematology Registrar you'll have the opportunity to develop specialist skills through structured training and rotations.

* Eligible to enter the State‐wide Advanced Haematology Training Program (FRACP and/or FRCPA pathway)
* Open to advanced trainees from other recognised specialty programmes seeking haematology experience
* Suitable for career medical officers who have completed Basic Physician Training (BPT)
* Applicants without BPT may be considered on a case‐by‐case basis
