Expert Legal Support for First Nations Communities
We are seeking a highly skilled Family Law Advocate to deliver high-quality legal services in Care & Protection/Family Law matters.
You will work closely with Aboriginal clients, providing culturally safe support and advice on various legal issues impacting their communities.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert advice and representation in court or tribunals on Care & Protection and Family Law matters.
* Offer referrals, dispute resolution, and Duty Solicitor services to ensure our clients receive comprehensive support.
* Maintain accurate records using ALS systems and contribute to law reform, policy development, and internal procedure reviews relevant to Care & Protection and Family Law.
* Engage in community legal education, outreach clinics, and professional development to maintain your legal knowledge and accreditation.
What We Look For In Our Ideal Candidate
* A NSW Practising Certificate (or eligibility) and strong advocacy experience representing clients in court or tribunals.
* Knowledge of Care & Protection and Family Law, with a willingness to develop expertise across other practice areas.
* A proven understanding of the legal issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, with a culturally safe and respectful approach to service delivery.
