Primary objective
Deliver professional front office reception and administrative services, attend to student’s medical and wellbeing needs and
providing support to the Business Manager, the Principal and teaching staff in a busy and demanding school environment.
Context statement
Bradshaw Primary School provides education to approximately 430 students from Preschool to Year 6, 35% of whom are
Aboriginal. The administration officer is pivotal in the establishment of the school’s systems, policies and processes. The school
uses the Student Administration Management System (SAMS) database to record student and school data and information and
attendance.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Deliver qualified front office reception duties including answering calls, greeting visitors, scheduling appointment and
providing information to the wider school community.
2. Undertake data entry and retrieval of Administration Management System school data systems to ensure accurate maintenance
of all manual and computerised student records.
3. Provide administrative support to the front office and leadership team, including word processing, data entry, administrative
and other tasks as directed by the Business Manager.
4. Responsible for accurate and timely receipting and banking of monies coming into the school, and ordering and maintaining
supplies.
5. Providing first aid and medication to students when required.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in providing high quality administrative support and sound use of various office applications such as
administration management databases, spreadsheets and reporting management systems.
2. Proven ability to develop and maintain working partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and work closely with team
members to achieve results as an effective front office unit.
3. Sound interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with people from diverse
cultural, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds.
4. Demonstrated experience in the management of cash and purchasing including receipting and banking monies in accordance
with policies and processes.
5. Ability to monitor own performance and tasks against expected outcomes, deadlines, whilst in a busy, fast-paced work
environment.
Desirable
First aid certificate, or the ability to gain a suitable qualification as soon as possible.
